Just wanted to chime in a little. Keep in mind that this device is a thermal pile with an AFE. With optics, and mechanical considerations this device can take on more applications. Fundementally alot of these applications are possible. They are not easy. They require the skills of an optical/mechanical engineer. Take a look at things like Winton Cones, Fresnel lenses, field of view restrictors, and magnification lenses...etc.
