We have recently transitioned our system to a new high G ERM actuator that feels weak when playing the DRV2605 open-loop haptic waveforms, especially when compared to raw full-voltage operation. We were hoping to improve our performance by using the auto-calibration feature but we're not sure if that will affect the open loop performance at all. Experiments thus far have not produced any noticeable difference. Is improving open loop performance possible for a given actuator? If so, what are critical steps in doing so? Thanks!
