Hi Kelly, Thanks for the quick response. That was the reference design that I was looking at. In the reference design document, it says "Piezo transducers generally have lower power consumption than dynamic speakers, particularly for narrow-bandwidth alarm signals that require a high sound pressure level (SPL) to meet regulatory requirements." We necessarily don't need such a high SPL as would be found in a smoke detector or fire alarm. Would a piezo driver be able to handle various doorbell sounds at varying frequencies? From my understanding piezo drivers are limited in their frequency operation making suitable for products operating at narrow frequencies such as smoke detectors and fire alarms.
