TMP006 can be used as a PIR motion sensing device. However, due to the distance and field of view limitations it can be of practical use only for applications that involve close distance proximity. For example we can use TMP006 on a TV remote controller, wherein the back lit buttons ON/OF based on some one holding/ about to hold the remote. In applications like motion sensing that involve small distances, like for example a wash basin, it could be possible to use TMP006 along with a lenses based solution. However we haven't tested the device to guarantee the performance for such applications.
