Forum Post: AFE4300: VREF Always 0V, RDY Pin always high
Part Number: AFE4300 hi first, I apologize to my bad English. I have a problem while developing AFE4300 . The Vref pin is always high even though I setting registers well and providing 3.3V 1MHZ clock. and RDY pin is high since the power is turned on. There is no problem reading and writing registers. It read the same value as the one I wrote. Here is the value that I write to AFE4300 . AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _ADC_CONTROL1, 0x4140); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _MISC1, 0x0000); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _MISC2, 0xFFFF); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _WEIGHT_SCALE_CONTROL, 0x0000); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _BCM_DAC, 0x0040); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _DEVICE_CONTROL2, 0x0000); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _MISC3, 0x00C0); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _DEVICE_CONTROL1, 0x6006); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _VSENSE_MUX, 0x0408); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _ISW_MUX, 0x0408); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _IQ_MODE, 0x0000); AFE4300 _SPI_Write( AFE4300 _ADC_CONTROL2, 0x0063); Thanks for your help.

Forum Post: Need Help in Selection of ADC for High speed image sensor
I Need a help on the following queries on a visible imager application. Question 1 : I have a CMOS image sensor which gives out analog output as differential Vcm = 2V and Vdiff is 200mV But if applied gain at sensor level the Vdiff may go up to 400mV so the Analog differential voltage operates between 2-400mV to 2+400mV, My confusion is what is maximum Vpp in ADC selection should i have to consider ? a ADC with Vpp 2.5V ? Question 2 : I have HCLK and VCLK for the sensor to be provided, the sensor throws a analog data out for every falling edge the maximum limitation of HCLK is 80MHz , i can say my analog sensor samples come out at 80MHz what should be my sampling rate for these kind of applications, should i need to follow double niquist rate here ? or is there a way i can syncronize the ADC to HCLK and get ADC output for every next rising edge of HCLK are there any special ADC like these to help me ?

Forum Post: ADS54J66EVM: ADS54J66
Part Number: ADS54J66EVM hi all, Actually iam using ADS54J66EVM board for testing jesd interface by using KC705 evaluation board. In the ADS54J66 datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ads54j66.pdf on page no 23, they have given a table for different modes of operation. I want operate at mode no 8 (no decimation), can anyone explain the relation between input clk frequency to the ADC and output data rate of ADC. Thank you.

Jim the configure is : 1.LMFS values LMFS is 2221 2.DAC Internal PLL or not. If using the PLL, what is the reference frequency? DAC PLL enable, reference frequency is 125m ( I also try to bypass DAC PLL , and using 1g DACCLK input). 3.NCO or not. If you are using the NCO, at what frequency? NCO bypass 4.DAC sample rate 1GSPS 5.DAC data rate 250MSPS 6.interpolation factor 4X 7.K value 32 8.RBD value 32 9.SYSREF frequency. Is this pulsed or continuously running? pulsed SYSREF, Period is 160ns 10.SYSREF AC or DC AC Regards

Thinh, Please use the attached ADS5484EVM User's Guide and wherever it calls out the TSW1200EVM, you will be using the TSW1400EVM . The device you select when using HSDC Pro GUI will be called "ADS5481-85. Follow the other User's Guide that is attached for information regarding the use of HSDC Pro. This should be pretty straight forwards. Regards, Jim (Please visit the site to view this file)(Please visit the site to view this file)

Forum Post: RE: TSW1400EVM: Instruction for testing a TSW1400 EVM with an ADS5484 EVM
Hi Jim, Thank you for your prompt reply. I did look at these two user guides but I'm still a bit confused. For ADS5484EVM User's Guide, it just shows the results from testing TSW1200EVM with ADS5484 , but not show any connection between them. For TSW1400EVM , there is a picture showing connection between TSW1400EVM and ADS5281EVM without any additional cables such as SMA. Do you think the connection between TSWW1400EVM and ADS5484EVM is similar to TSW1400EVM and ADS5281EVM ? Do I need any addtional SMA cables for clock_input and analog_input of ADS5484EVM ? The wall mount adapter used for TSW1400EVM must be 5 V and at least 4A, doesn't it? Thank you for your time. Thinh

Sai, The digital filters can only pass roughly 80% of the input bandwidth. So for mode 0, if you are sampling at 500MHz, and decimating by 2, the max data rate will be 250MSPS. The max BW is then 0.8 * 250 = 200MHz.Table 3, figure 54 and figure 55 go into more information regarding this for mode 0. Other tables and figures cover the other modes. Regards, Jim

Forum Post: RE: TSW1400EVM: Instruction for testing a TSW1400 EVM with an ADS5484 EVM
Thinh, You will need SMA cables for the analog input and clock source for the ADC board, a power supply (3.3V I think) and a 5V power source (4A) for the TSW1400. You can use a lab supply if you do not have the wall mount power supply. You will also need a USB cable for the TSW1400. Regards, Jim
